What if the Feanorians repeatedly kidnap This One Guy from Ethel Sirion because none of them can sing healing anymore. Fingon and Fingolfin let it happen because having half the army with no medics is a real problem, but no one wants an official reassignment.

(2) One of my favourite Fingon moments was how he found (and eventually rescued) Maedhros: In despair, since he couldn’t find him, he took out his harp (I love his packing priorities) and started to sing; and suddenly Maedhros answered.

So I just had surgery and my meds have made me extra emotional. I’ve also been working on my silmarillion reread so today I was crying thinking about how Fingon doesn’t get enough credit for being one of the bravest characters in the legendarium while also being so whimsical. I just love him so much
