Deciduous and Evergreen:
This is a new short story I’m writing for spooky season, Inspired by that feeling you get from movies like Casper, Hocus Pocus, and Stranger Things, all wrapped in the folkloric texture of a book like Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.

Finally got around to reading Pt. 2. Exciting conclusion! Fun folkloric/fairy tale tone to this whole story. It was good, and scary, good balance of supernatural threat and real flesh and blood peril.

Big fan! Congratulations Juan C. Moreno for this story and well donr!
In the full moonlight, two young coyotes are about to discover the legend of La Llorona is more than myth as the deadly spirit closes in.

Tonight’s story is the second and final part of “La Leyenda de Marisa Gritaluna” by Juan C. Moreno.

How do leap seconds figure in this process?

What about relativistic effects?

What if your gremlin has a food particle stuck in its teeth that comes loose at 1201hrs?

Folkloric curses which require following rules precisely need precise rules.

this is what I love about etymology and the evolution of how words are applied! "dragon" is retroactively applied to a vast swath of folkloric creatures within europe as well, even within a single culture. What IS a dragon except something vaguely serpent-like?

However, my editor, Kevin Lewis, realized a series of books about the field guide could build an audience that would want this type of book. Holly Black, who had been helping with the folkloric research for the guide, was brought on as the author. Together, we plotted the five-book series.

My Audible account turned back on after months on pause. I've decided to go back to my childhood and renew my familiarity with Lloyd Alexander's fantasy series "The Chronicles of Prydein", one of the most under-rated folkloric fantasy sagas of all time. #welshmythology #theblackcauldron #arawn

THE BRIDES OF DRACULA (1960), Terence Fisher

Cushing at his most crush-worthy burns the bloodlust out of villages & veins while weaponizing a windmill in this Lee-less follow-up that centers a narrative dripping with hazy folkloric terror upon the Norman Bates of vampires.

The heyday of exchanging halloween postcards was between 1900 and 1920 and the bizarre images often had a folkloric tale to tell.

These anthropomorphic cabbages allude to divination recorded in Scotland and Ireland where the shape of a pulled cabbage stalk denoted the figure of your future love!
