I think that FSG wants a head coach to be Liverpool when preseason starts in July, not when they are coaching their national team in the middle of the World Cup.

Seems to me he doesn't know his best team & if he actually did have an idea, he's afraid to play it in case he alienates the "names" knowing the supporters she FSG won't put up with it. He's doomed if he does & doomed if he doesn't.

I hope that FSG have planned for their English club to be out of the big money league for years, as playing as shit as we are, we’re likely to be overtaken by other clubs.
And failure to qualify will lead lots of players to consider their future/move on, further compounding the problem.

Non-trolling answer: I believe they continue investing based on what the data scientists are recommending. I don't think they are necessarily "investing in Slot" - it's about building up the club while being agnostic on whether or not Slot remains. (but I am not FSG or Edwards... just a guess)
