A very tiny sweat bee, black with yellow rear legs, feeds on a bright yellow helenium flower. A Furrow Bee lands on the flower right next to the sweat bee and literally kicks it off. The furrow bee's rear leg is thrust out sideways to kick the tiny sweat bee, which is rolling sideways off the flower. The Furrow Bee is alone on top of the flower. Probably Halictus ligatus, Striped Furrow Bee. Oklahoma Northern Crosstimbers ecoregion 29a, August 2025.

"It was only a dream." Morgan knew that. Of course she knew that. But that didn't make the taste of blood leave her tongue. It didn't make the cold grip of fear release her lungs. Rough hands cupped her cheeks, thumbs brushing against the tears as they carved their way across her skin. Lancelot's grey sky eyes searched hers as pale gold brows pinched in worry. "What troubles you, ma foi?" he asked, sweet and gentle like Morgan might bite if his tone held any kind of force. Morgan's face scrunched terribly, her eyes sealing shut as she tried to parse why she couldn't shake the dread. Flashes of dark corridors filled her mind. The sound of a falling crown. Bodies tangled in moonlight. Morgan's eyes flew open as a roiling, ill sensation filled her gut. She was met with Lancelot's tender concern, his eyes darting between Morgan's face and Guinevere's eyes over her shoulder. "You," she murmured, head dropping to Lancelot's shoulder. "I was dreaming of the two of you." "We wanted to openly love you in the way we were too afraid to do before." Morgan's eyes drifted shyly, her lips pressed tightly together. Lancelot wanted to kiss away the furrow between her brows, so he did. And then he kissed her fluttering eyelids. And then the tear stains on her cheeks. At the same time, Guinevere's plush lips made their way up Morgan's spine and across her shoulder. The knight's lips met those of the former queen — now a knight in her own right — before he kissed his king in the way she deserved. Slow and tender and full of a special kind of wonder he held in his heart just for her. There was a reason he called her his faith. When he released her, Guinevere took her own time with their king. Lips stained red from years of pressing crushed petals into them met ones rough from nervous teeth and the bite of autumn breezes in what Lancelot could only call a symphony of beauty.

Not much of an answer but I have always just ploughed my own furrow, messed about with paint and products. I rarely watch YouTube as its boring & I enjoy messing about with stuff. You may well think ‘it shows’ but I’m reasonably happy with my progress so far & it’s been fun 🤷‍♂️

a excerpt of my writing, body text reads: Jeongguk wakes to a beautiful summer’s day. The sky is a sort of forever blue and the barley fields are singing madrigals and the trees are laughing-bright and the wind has all sorts of stories and Jeongguk has a golden apple clutched in his hand as he descends the hill to the village and makes his way to the house at the edge of the meadows to find every window thrown wide and the door propped open to the season and the sun. There is singing coming from the kitchen, the voice soft and sweet, all crystal and lilies and starlight, and the air smells of cinnamon and honey and fig and Jeongguk thinks that of all the things he’s done in his years of life, this might be the most important of them all. There is a sign beside him that reads, “Knock firmly please”. He knocks firmly. “Oh?” The singing stops and he mourns the loss of it but celebrates the appearance of the knight, flour on his hands and cheeks and a furrow in his brow as he turns a corner and comes face to face with Jeongguk. “How can I help you today?”
