the way this is supposed to be unapologetically horny and yet i make myself upset
Back then, before the crash and directly after — she’d had Laura Lee. Lottie would search for her hand at night when they slept in the cabin, just as she’d search for her calming embrace the days of pep rallies. She misses sinking into someone, allowing her nose to bury into their neck, memorizing their scent for when the bad came for her again. Laura Lee had always been so wonderfully plain, her hair a sweet floral scent, and her wrists and neck drenched in a vanilla perfume. She remembered wanting to taste her skin, to see if she tasted like vanilla, too. Here and now, there was no such relief. No sweet scent of vanilla, no whispered prayers from Laura Lee’s God in her ear, no pressure of arms wrapped around her so tightly. Tears prick at her eyes, warm and hot, before she hastily wipes them away. There’s no time for reminiscing. Or maybe there’s all the time in the world, and none of them know it yet.
