#groklaw
Ugh... someone managed to register the old Groklaw domain and turn it into a crypto/casino spam blog.

(For those who don't remember it, the site chronicled SCO's and Microsoft's legal campaign against Linux back in the 2000s, as well as software patents and other court cases. The […]

if groklaw still existed they would've reported about this lawsuit against OpenAI; now, there's no good coverage.

I bought SUSE Linux on CDs in the mid 2000s but I was using dialup and could not configure the modem settings. I putzed with it a little and gave up.

Reminds I was nearly obsessed with a legal thing (Groklaw); some Unix outfit was claiming they owned Linux or something like that.. suing IBM.

On 18 July 2025, the groklaw site was available and mostly worked with a few odd mis-links. As of 18 August 2025 the site points to a crypto gambling site. thanks en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groklaw

Groklaw

Another web maintenance todo: if you still have #groklaw links on your blog or other site, time to make a local copy of the original pages from archive.org and fix the links

You can take it from me too:

20 years ago if you used Linux — or probably even if you just used open source — you knew exactly what Groklaw was all about

And now, Groklaw has been hijacked:

i realy miss reading groklaw
I can completely see why it feels to some people like it will be a great solve, but just think about the absolute hot mess of passwords and 2FA etc that characterises family life and shared services etc. It's a great bit of theatre but it won't remove the need for really good digital parenting
