One of the best things about GTAIII/ Vice City was lining up a really good jump off an unusual ramp and seeing it happen in slow motion. Many happy hours spent doing that. I reckon someone clever could make that game in about half an afternoon, these days.

My GTA6 delay opinion is that though it will obviously be brilliant I think I'd actually much rather play a fun blocky indie take on the genre that's fun and on a GTAIII-sized map and is mostly about going really fast over ramps.

GTA began in 1997. Even the 3D ones are over 20 years old, since GTAIII was a 2001 release.

In retrospect, yeah, it seems like GTAIII could’ve been the *perfect* thing for Microsoft to lock up while Sony was so busy jerking off into its own mouth over Metal Gear Solid 2.

As someone that played a lot of them as they released, they were mindblowing at the time. GTAIII was one of the first games I got to try on PS2 so having this massive open world with good tunes, an interesting (to me) story, and plenty of interactivity was like pouring sugar right on my brain.
