They have no business being this cool so soon after the Darkoath releases. 😂 We were already satisfied! This is more than one hobbyist can consume!

OMGAT, on one hand, I am a serious serial hobbyist and it would be great to find other people who could love and use my supplies to get into the hobby.
On the other hand, what if I want to pick up my old hobby back?
ON THE THIRD HAND, WHAT IF I LEARN ABOUT A NEW HOBBY BY SOMEONE ELSE'S DISCARDS?? 😲

Been considering a sequel to www.furaffinity.net/view/62040689/

But have largely been struck by choice paralysis as to who else is next- another terrarium denizen? One of the macro ‘benefactors’ themselves? One of the people in charge of the hobbyist company who makes these artificial landscapes?

I should've read the website more carefully. You're the hobbyist!

Will the app be available on F-Droid or other places that allow FOSS apps?

If I switched, it would partially be for the convenience of a dedicated app. I saw that it was open source now, and apparently this is passion-driven by a hobbyist, so hoping that means little in the way of telemetry or data storing.

I could go on. I wrote an article for a periodical that’s since ended (Playboy), but they didn’t publish it because it lacked “anything really about boobs,” but it’s been a small hobbyist interest of mine. The evolution of film cameras, I mean, not porn. That’s been a large hobbyist interest.

There's a few of them up here because iirc there's a hobbyist in Oregon who specializes in fixing them. Mine died on me right before I finished leaving my husband and he was too cheap to get it maintenanced for me.

To be clear I am talking about this specifically in the context of online hobbyist art, where I see a general sentiment that the art Should be weird and it is Exciting if it is weird, but it's not agreed upon what this is or looks like.

Stop watching pirated anime on shitty tube sites and torrent like a responsible citizen
The commercialization of piracy should alarm everyone; producers consumers and pirates. Shit quality service that exploits both the original content producers and hobbyist fansub groups. They belong in hell.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

We're all responsible for allowing the fire to burn out of control in the first place, and it's going to take more action than mass hobbyist finger wagging protests with no constructive demands.

It gave me the opportunity to sorta do a quick "here's how modern board games are different" overview, and also to talk about how I'm trying to both aim the game at my hobbyist market while creating something approachable for "non-gamers" who are just interested in having a Belinda Blinked game.

This is about my writing hobby (and I say hobby because I'm more hobbyist with this than I am with visual art). I gey these ideas, and I'm thonking "I'm really gonna regret it." It's in queue for now. Maybe it'll give me time to think before I act on it. If I still wanna do it after a while, I will.

There's a few of those folks in some of my hobbyist communities and they're so tiresome, man. They want to make sure you know they're forever sick from long covid circa 2020 and miserable, introduce themselves by their list of maladies, and the world wants them, specifically, to die to death

Are you referring to Nintendo nuking emulation websites? Yeah that shit sucks, but it hasn't stopped emulation, and emulation has always been a hobbyist niche. Most people are scared of it, because its weird and finnicky. It's not "plug and play" accessible. Every generation of games faces that.

My mind was blown when I read about how hobbyist GNSS has given us a detailed map in high income countries, of how super local changes in X, Y, Z dimensions change constantly with seemingly long term attractors. Where I am is moving up and to the northeast by a millimeter or two every year.

Local news:

Last time behind the wheel of our plucky and timeless-classic 2000 Audi A4, stalwart for the past 25 years and with plates from WA, CA, and DC, going off to its next owner.

Fortunately, a car hobbyist who's going to restore it! And lives nearby, so we'll catch gimpses.

The FPU (VFP) and SIMD (NEON) are both optional ARM features, but I think all the Raspberry Pi models (excluding the Pico) have FPUs. I think the oldest ARM CPU core in active use that isn't a microcontroller is ARM11 (ARMv6 + VFPv2 + NEON).

I'm not sure many hobbyist SBCs used Cortex-A5 or -A7.

The early systems quickly went from 'cabinet making' with combinations of wood and metal panels, to large scale injection moulding.

Acrylic sheet, laser cut and heat-formed, is just about within reach of the hobbyist, but I've not had the chance to design for it yet.
