I’d argue that it’s most famous for Horseshoe Curve - which is quite relevant, as Luigi’s politics seem to exemplify Horseshoe Theory. Given that he was very well educated at Penn, I wouldn’t even put it past him to have chosen Altoona for that very reason. www.railroadcity.org/horseshoecurve

In my free time recently i got curious and tried a triple header K4 pull of 35 loaded hoppers from altoona to Johnstown in #Trainsimulatorclassic it was a ruff run and required helpers but it was successful in the end.
