In a statement just posted to Facebook, an Auburn Council member, Beth Witten, accused Hughstone Homes’ rep, Tyler Findley, of deceiving her. She says he agreed Friday to leave the bald eagles’ nest untouched until a Monday meeting, then was present when the tree was cut down and the net destroyed.
Thought a broader audience should hear about this. A local developer, Hughston Homes, last night destroyed a nest that two bald eagles had occupied since 2017. The Auburn community had asked the developer to find an alternative, but overnight, the tree was cut down.
