But if she does have a form of hyperphantasia, it could also explain her talent as a visual artist, who from a very early age was exceptionally good at drawing, sculpture etc. perhaps she “sees” much more detailed and accurate pictures in her mind than most people do.

So I have hyperphantasia
So I decided to see if I could train it
Mentally visualizing a sphere, using 4 rings to isolate a cube, and then deriving all other structures from there.

no help at all, she could neither confirm nor refute, as she herself had no memory of the layout of the daycare facility.
In an interesting contrast, I suspect that my daughter has some form of HYPERphantasia. She herself suggested this, again, after reading about aphantasia. She tried to describe >

Part of the aphantasia/hyperphantasia spectrum perhaps? 🤷🏻♀️ Some evidence suggests that aphantasia (lack of visual imagery) is really representative of a spectrum of how much conscious vs unconscious processing a person does—people with aphantasia should be bad at mental rotation tasks but they’re as

i have always wondered about people who tell me they’ve taken psychedelics and haven’t been able to “see” anything. since reading about aphantasia i want to know if there’s any kind of link there.
also i am somewhat close to hyperphantasia and i loves trips, researchers hmu as a control, tia.

Mental imagery is associated with a bewildering variety of human traits and capacities: a propensity to hold grudges; a vulnerability to trauma; emotional awareness; ways of making art; memory of one’s life. What happens if you can’t see it?
Some People Can’t See Mental Images. The Consequences Are Profound
Research has linked the ability to visualize to a bewildering variety of human traits—how we experience trauma, hold grudges, and, above all, remember our lives.

Man, having both hyperphantasia and OCD is wild. It’s like having a TV channel with horror movies about your worst fear playing 24/7

I enjoyed this article on aphantasia (and hyperphantasia). Unlike some of these interviewees I don't have any grief about not being able to visualise, but I share the weirdness of realising of how different other people's experience of being human is...

EXACTLY THIS. I write and I draw, I personally HATE the entire creative process because I have hyperphantasia and I already know what I want and having the tedious process is EXCRUCIATINGLY SLOWER THAN MY BRAIN'S ABILITY TO CREATE.
BUT MY GOD. THE END PRODUCT. KNOWING /I/ DID THAT???

I don't use ai for inspiration. I don't use ai to write. I don't use ai for anything. I simply sit and WRITE. Because it's MINE. Because I LOVE it. And if it gets tough, I just keep WRITING.

i've had nightmare disorder and sleep paralysis both for as long as i can remember, going back to when i still had safety rails on my childhood bed, and on top of those i also have hyperphantasia and the combination of all three leads to some very frightening experiences that are just. normal to me

the great thing about the resultant aphantasia–hyperphantasia mix is that it’s all pretty manageable, did included – that is until we start having An Emotion From Hell that won’t ever justify its existence by pointing to a clear outset or source

I'm involved research on neurodivergence & astrology, and I'd like to also do some on the inability to visualise ('aphantasia', vs 'hyperphantasia' at the other end of the spectrum). I suspect Jupiter is in the mix, maybe in combination with Mercury and Neptune. Dignity yes, maybe elements, aspects?
