#iBCIs
Interesting #brain computer interface breakthrough - researchers now have a way to auto-recalibrate #iBCIs using a hidden #MarkovModel, keeping cursor control stable for months with no manual tuning. It may enable long-term #BCI use. Details at @natbiomedeng.nature.com: go.nature.com/3KP0ppv

While previous groups have stabilized iBCIs by extracting and aligning low-D manifolds underlying neural activity, we here show that you can do a bit better aligning the full-D population activity using CycleGAN, which uses a cycle consistency loss term to make it more stable than your typical GAN.
