this is presumably just a typo tbh. i mean there wasn't even an election in 1990, it was in 1992. in that case the inaguration being in 93 makes way more sense

Based on current trends and the way congress and the Supreme Court have bent the knee, there won't be a third term. The second term will become permanent. He will declare he is protecting the nation from illegal voting, and simply not allow elections or election results.

I remember tons of liberals who I knew personally (I live right outside DC, it’s the default here) tut-tutting property damage at the first Trump inaguration who would nowadays…maybe not be the one slinging the rock through a storefront window, but they’d definitely keep an eye out for the cops

Was just thinking recently: back during Trump 1, he'd constantly hold campaign rallies despite being President already, just for the showiness and adulation. How many rallies has he done since his second inaguration? It's like he doesn't have the stamina and cognitive capacity for them anymore...

do you run in more liberal/progressive circles? I've only encountered this from Christian sources on a regular basis as an adult/post Obama's inaguration (I'm not sure why that's the marker I'm using but still). Growing up it was a lot of ... the Chick Track version.

And City of Blinding Lights was also the official Campaign Song used by @barackobama.bsky.social when he ran for the U.S. Presidency in 2008 and 2012 as well! And U2 performed that song at a pre-US Presidential Inaguration Concert in January 2009 before Barack Obama became the 44th US President
