My little half-assed pizza garden is doing ok.
The Tomatoes are flowering, but no tomatoes yet.
The basil is doing well.
The Thyme is a bit spindly.
The Marjoram had to be started over.
I burned the leaves the 1st time around.

The tomato leaves have a silvery sheen to them when the lights are on.
Here's my attempt at a small indoor hydroponic "pizza" garden. I have Red Robin Tomatoes, Boxwood Basil, German Thyme, and Sweet Marjoram. The tomatoes are in an Inbloom 12 pod hydroponic container (without the pump) and the herbs are in small Folgers coffee canisters, which make good hydroponic containers, especially for slower growing herbs like the Thyme and Marjoram. Basil likes to drink a lot of water, so in about a month it will be draining the Folders canister once a day. Before I cut the basil back (second time) it was already draining the container about once a week. My hope is to keep the basil small, so it doesn't need to be refilled so often. The Thyme and Marjoram both "sip" the water, and I haven't had to top either of them up yet. Both the Thyme and Marjoram are on risers made from Lego Duplo blocks. This is because I keep needing to raise the lights for the tomatoes and I don't want either of the herbs to become spindly. The lights are a couple of Feit 24 inch, 20watt grow lights I got years and years ago. The lights are suspended over the hydroponic containers using a janky PVC stand I made. You can't really see it in the photo, but in person the leaves of the tomato plant look silvery from all the trichomes on the leaves. When I rub the leaves they have a wonderful tomato vine smell, which to me is very soothing. With the lights off, you can see the leaves are just green. In person they are very dark green. The basil leaves look a bit light in the photo, but in person they look just fine. I think it's a trick of the light because the tomato leaves are so dark green. You can also see how the tomato leaves almost look fuzzy from all the trichomes on the leaves, which are full of tomato vine scent!
