Occidental (Interlingue) has always described itself as a non-Romance language with a Romance appearance. Though ironically de Wahl's Rule makes it the best one for understanding derivation from verbs.

If there is a sizeable community of Kotava speakers, something comparable to those of Ido, Interlingua or even Occidental/Interlingue, there should be "real books" in that language, not just pdf or html publications. Also, there are zero news or articles about Kotava in newspapers or radio/TV shows.

It is unlikely, as there is practically no published literature or international gatherings of that a priori language. At least there are some publications in Ido, Interlingua and even Occidental/Interlingue in Lulu and Amazon. Kotava still remains in pdf and html

I guess he and I were just about the same age. He and I tried to get some discussion going in Interlingua about cooking and baking.

I think I sometimes get him mixed up with Dave MacLeod. I think Dave is American but lives abroad.. and now speaks Interlingue. I never met him.

Kan. Maar ertegen spreekt dat Volapük nog ouder is (en ooit zeer populair was), evenals Interlingue/Occidental (1922). Beide zijn nu zoals je weet nog marginaler dan Interlingua.
