Ikémen Villains Voice Cast Interviews Jude Jazza VA: Kaito Takeda Notable Roles: World Trigger (Satoshi Mizukami), Tales of Luminaria (Hugo) Q. What are your impressions of the game? Back when I first debuted, I was still working part-time at a convenience store. That was when I heard an in-store commercial for Ikémen Vampire. One of my seniors at my agency, Nobunaga Shimazaki, is the voice of Napoleon in that game. I thought he sounded REALLY really cool, and I hoped that I could land a role like that someday! The illustrations for the game also caught my eye, and honestly, the art for the Ikémen Series is always extremely gorgeous. I really can't tell you how honored I am to be a part of Ikémen Villains. Q. What were your first impressions of your character? Jude speaks in Kansai dialect, so I immediately felt a connection with him because of that. His hair and eye color really stood out to me, too. But after reading his lines and seeing how smart, sophisticated, and resourceful he is, I just thought, "Wow, this guy is really cool!". It's also interesting to see how even though he can be pretty harsh to the heroine a lot of the time, you can see his love for her start to shine through as time goes on. This type of role is a first for me, so I knew it would be quite a challenge. Q. Are there any other characters you're interested in? I'd have to say Jude's assistant, Ellis. He's so good at his job that even Jude respects him, and yet he has this strange, warped obsession with happiness. I think those two parts of him together are both terrifying and really fascinating. Q. What were some lines that left an impression on you when you were recording? The line, "If ya ever plan on runnin' from me, ya better kill me first. 'Cause if ya don't, I ain't lettin" ya go till you've turned to nothin' but bone 'n dust." This line really captures the depth of his love for the heroine, and how at that point, only death could keep him away from her. It felt like he was confessing to her that it was all or nothing, that he was putting his life in her hands. Despite that though, I was careful not to make him sound soft or kind at all during this scene, so please listen for that. Q. Since this is a game about "villains" tell us something bad you did recently. I really like collecting American comic book figures, and usually buy one the moment I see something I like. But one day, this led to SEVEN of them arriving at my doorstep all at the same time, and I felt a little guilty about it... like, yeah, this was way too much... But even still, they make me happy and I don't regret it. Q. For this role you're playing a villain, but what side do you generally tend to lean towards in media? The villains? The heroes? I guess I tend to lean toward the hero's side, but even then, I like darker heroes like Batman. He has his own strong sense of justice, and sometimes he'll stop at nothing to achieve his goals. That selfishness can often put him on a tightrope where one wrong move can send him falling over to the villain's side, and I think that's really cool. Q. Do you have a message for your fans? I'm honored to be playing the role of Jude Jazza in Ikémen Villains. I had a lot of fun during recording and put my all into every one of my lines. Jude is a person who is difficult to deal with; he's smart, he's haughty, and he's extremely ruthless. But I think it's because of these things that his love for those close to him runs so deep. If that interests you, why not give him a chance to turn your life upside down?
