Fotografia de uma borboleta (Junonia evarete) pousada com as asas abertas sobre folhas verdes brilhantes de manjericão (Ocimum basilicum). Esta borboleta possui padrões simétricos em suas asas. As pontas das asas dianteiras são de coloração laranja com pares de ocelos pretos de diferentes tamanhos e ao seu lado duplo desenhos que lembram o formato de ervilhas. A parte central de seu corpo é levemente marrom se estendendo até as asas dianteiras. Na parte traseira possui escamas estruturais em azul metálico com dois pares de ocelos roxos também de ambos os lados. As bordas são linhas ondulantes traçadas inicialmente em marrom intercaladas com a cor areia.

Eye Spots and Echoes

I don’t remember taking this picture, but I must have—and fairly recently. I believe the butterfly is a Common Buckeye (Junonia coenia). I don’t use an insect ID app, but I usually try to identify them through a bit of Google sleuthing when I post a photo.

Common buckeye, passionflower in the longleaf meadow (I've never seen one in that kinda spot before so that was cool), dogtongue buckwheat, zebra swallowtail. The wet trail led to a dryish sandy longleaf meadow that is leading to a powerline row

Junonia is a walking contradiction at times and I truly love writing a villain that is both incredibly self-aware but yet oblivious to the lies she tells herself. She constantly feels the need to be honest with everyone but herself. Also, this was her way of telling the hero she is attracted to her.

Early morning encounter with one of the most common nymphalidaes found throughout South Asia. Slow fliers,almost seemingly floating. One of the few butterfly that is seen year round.
