I like the word "answer" the most. When listening to the lyrics of "Kakurenbo", in the end isn't it a story about embarking on a journey to pursue an "answer"? We too, every time we create something, we think "what can we do to make PLLIs happier?" while working. In that sense, I really resonated with the word "answer".

——When do you wish for people to listen to "Kakurenbo"?

I'd like to recommend listening to it when you're alone at home in the evening, under calm lighting. As "Kakurenbo" is a song with a very delicate flow of emotions, it's good to listen to it when concluding the day. When listening to it, there might be a moment when a forgotten memory suddenly flickers in your mind.

——Please share your thoughts on the Japan debut showcase.

I was incredibly nervous, and incredibly excited too. It was an unfamiliar environment, but the moment I stepped on stage, the warm cheers of support and

reactions deeply moved me. Did you feel as if you were breathing in unison when watching the performance that we prepared? It was our debut showcase, and at the same time felt like a new starting point. It became another occasion where once again I swore to myself that "I have to work even harder".

——What activities do you wish to try doing in the future?

Currently I'm already filming dance challenges with various Japanese artists. I want to try filming challenge videos with even more people. And I want to experience us creating and singing a Japanese anime theme song. I watch many Japanese anime regularly and enjoy them. So I'd be very honoured and happy if our music was used as an anime theme song.

——You will be holding a concert in Japan too, what sort of concert will it be?

In terms of the performance, we plan to include new arrangements and performances which were never shown before. We are particular about the details, so that PLLIs can feel the emotions contained in every single choreography. We hope that the whole stage can feel like a single story.

—— Please share what Hamin places importance on in your work.

PLAVE is a group that creates our own story. While engaging in the creative process, we strive to clearly build our group's unique colour. Starting from myself, each of the members work with a sense of responsibility to their role, all of that comes together to complete a story. With strong teamwork as the foundation, we are always troubling over how to incorporate an immersive story into our albums and music so that people are immersed in it even further.

・I'm the type to worry for a long time when deciding something, so please give me plenty of time and exchange opinions with me.
・I love to be praised. Please shower me with praises like cute, skillful, the best! etc.
・I wake up early in the morning even when I have no schedule.

——What is a Japanese word you have learnt recently, or what is your favourite Japanese word?

I like the word "oshimen" (favourite member of a group).

Apparently it means the person you like the most. I'd like to become that kind of existence too.

——What is something you are into recently?

Recently I'm into piano lessons. Though I originally began playing the piano while preparing Island's performance, it was more fun that I'd expected, and I've continued learning after that. The feeling of expressing your emotions with your fingertips is really fascinating. One day I'd like to try improvising a performance in front of PLLIs.

——Please share a recent TMI.

The other day in Korea on Terra (Earth), it was apparently the "chobok", a day where traditionally you eat nourishing food. I also matched that day, and ate a single serving of dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken). I'm living well while properly eating nourishing food!

Rather than a word, I have a favourite phrase. The phrase "are you (feeling) the same?". It's lyrics that seems to ask "Do you feel the same as me? Are you in a similar situation?". When I think of PLLIs, I always think of such things. What are PLLIs doing, are you thinking of me, do we feel the same way? That's why I think I can relate to those lyrics very much.

——When do you wish for people to listen to "Kakurenbo"?

"Kakurenbo" is an overwhelmingly refreshing and sensitive song that reminds one of Japan's summer sunlight and youth. I think that it matches even better when listened to during a warm moment, like dusk when the yellow sunlight envelopes the air. It contains the feeling of missing each other, being lost in memories, and wishing to be able to meet again while laughing "I found you!". If you are able to enjoy the lyrics while feeling that lingering moment, I believe that it will resonate even more deeply in your heart.

——Please share your thoughts on the Japan debut

showcase.

I felt nervous and excited, introducing ourselves in a new place. We were able to successfully complete the showcase thanks to PLLIs who came to support us. In spite of the fact that the fanchant video was released on the day of the showcase and just before it, you all came after eagerly remembering the fanchant. We want to convey our gratitude to all the PLLIs who support and cheer for us.

——What activities do you wish to try doing in the future?

I want to put together a setlist made up of Japanese songs that I have composed, and meet tens of thousands of PLLIs in a large concert venue. I feel overwhelmed when I imagine the moment of PLLIs singing along to the melodies I've made. I've discussed this goal with the members too, and all of us have resolved to work hard for that day. And I'd like to try collaborating with Japanese artists. I particularly want to try collaborating with artists active in Japan's hip-hop scene.

——You will be holding a concert in Japan too, what sort of concert will it be?

I love moments when emotions are shared the most, such as PLLIs laughing out loud together at the venue. For this concert too, I think it will be such a performance. We have prepared a lot so that everyone who comes to the Japan concert will have fun, so please look forward to it.

—— Please share what Eunho places importance on in your work.

As expected when writing lyrics, you come to delicately handle the "inherent value of words". In order to accurately convey the emotions in each verse of lyrics, we focus on choosing the most impactful and suitable words. We composerz (Yejun & Noah & Eunho) create music based on the fundamental rule that "the music has to be easy listening". And we are always troubling over while finishing up the music, in order for people to naturally feel the emotions and feel resonated when they hear the melody and lyrics.

・If you talk to me, I will return it five times more! I'm not shy, so please feel free to talk to me~
・When I'm hungry, I suddenly become quiet, and talk less.

——What is a Japanese word you have learnt recently, or what is your favourite Japanese word?

The Japanese word I like is "same place". Though it being easy to pronounce is also a reason, it's also because I'm happy each time I am in the same space as PLLIs.

——What is something you are into recently?

It's been that way since before, but recently I'm into noodles dishes again. I really crave cold noodle dishes like naengmyeon during the hot summer. I love clam kalguksu and udon, I especially love udon so much that the type I want to eat every morning changes.

Recently, I ordered and ate 4 fried dumplings and a large serving of jajangmyeon by myself, but I was full. It was a day when I clearly felt that my stomach had shrunk. As I ate such high-calorie food, I had salad the next day!

How about giving it a listen in your daily life when you suddenly recall something which you had forgotten? "Kakurenbo" is a song that stirs up tense yet sad and heart-throbbing emotion of searching for each other. I think that it is a good song to listen to when you sometimes miss someone, or yourself from a particular period of time.

——Please share your thoughts on the Japan debut showcase.

When our Japan debut was decided, I first thought that "the scope of our activities is going to become much wider". At the showcase venue, we first performed

"Kakurenbo", followed by "Chroma Drift" and "RIZZ" respectively in Japanese, it feels so wonderful that everyone enjoyed all of the songs wholeheartedly, I'm very grateful. Because PLLIs waved their lightsticks to their utmost together with the music, I was naturally re-energised.

——What activities do you wish to try doing in the future?

For the short term, our goal was so spend an "unforgettable summer" with PLLIs through our Japan debut. And through the Asia Tour to be held in the latter half of the year, we want to present even more wonderful performances. For the long term, we want to show our infinite potential by challenging various concepts that will draw reactions like "You can even do this virtually?"

——You will be holding a concert in Japan too, what sort of concert will it be?

I want to make the Japan concert not just a "concert" but a "work of art". We aim to show a performance whereby the music, choreography and even the images are all connected. We want PLLIs to experience imagination and emotions together through our performances.

—— Please share what Bamby places importance on in your work.

I am always troubling over how to make best use of the unique advantages of a virtual idol, and the points that can draw public interest. Just like how I incorporated elements from various animations including "Spirited Away" into the choreography of "Kakurenbo", I continue to create choreography that includes storytelling, and artistic attempts to combine that with special effects. Because I believe that such attempts maximise PLAVE's unique appeal, and can draw even more interest.

——Please tell us 3 items from the "Bamby user manual".

・When I'm alone, I often fly off to imaginary lands on my own.
・Because there are times when I revise a choreography more than dozens of times while conceptualising it, please understand my passion and efforts.
・I love cold noodles and jjondeugi (a Korean snack), and raise plants etc. please enjoy my unique, sensitive hobbies together with me.

——What is a Japanese word you have learnt recently, or what is your favourite Japanese word?

I like the phrase "to be by your side". Recently, I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, it is my favourite phrase among what I have studied.

——What is something you are into recently?

Recently I am into studying Japanese. When our Japan debut was decided, I started studying Japanese in order to work harder in our activities in Japan. I can feel that my skills are gradually improving, and it has become more fun. Memorising words and forming sentences is more fun than I thought. I think it will be nice if there comes a day when I can watch Japanese anime naturally without subtitles.

Recently, the evening sky was so beautiful that I thought to myself "it's like a movie", at that moment, a streetlight above my head switched on. I thought that it was truly like a moment from a movie.

I like the word "koe" (voice). I believe that it is the word that expresses us the best. "Voice" is an important keyword in our song "Kakurenbo". "Kakurenbo" conveys that "I search for you and raise my voice, but when my voice reaches you, you have disappeared again. That's how we have been playing hide and seek all along".

——When do you wish for people to listen to "Kakurenbo"?

"Kakurenbo" is a good song that can be listened to at any time, but I especially recommend giving it a listen when you want to give yourself a little space to breathe. The melody is also good, but the lyrics contain a piece of story that makes you question "what happened?", if you listen to it in a quiet space while savouring the lyrics, I believe that the sensibility we want to convey will fully reach you.

——Please share your thoughts on the Japan debut showcase.

The Japan debut is like "another debut", "a new start".

Being able to stand at this new starting point, I want to show those who don't know PLAVE who we are with "our performance rather than words" through this debut showcase. Officially debuting in Japan, being able to perform before PLLIs, feels like a dream to me, and I'll be happy if we can meet many times in the future too.

——What activities do you wish to try doing in the future?

I want to try collaborating with various Japanese artists. And because I love rock, I want to try performing at a Japan rock festival. My ultimate goal with PLAVE is to conquer Terra (Earth), but in order to achieve my goal, I'll be happy if I can create opportunities for people around the world to listen to PLAVE's music.

——You will be holding a concert in Japan too, what sort of concert will it be?

For our Japan concert, I believe that it will be a stage where we can show our music with even more depth. Through PLAVE's distinct band sound, and our live performance, we want to leave the impression that "this group is for real". I think that it will turn out to be an intense yet warm stage.

your work.

When I create music, I always spend a long time troubling over "how can I make something better". And even after completing something, I often check it again and make revisions. I am the type to pursue till the end as long as there is the slightest improvement. I believe thay this persistence will ultimately lead to good results, so I take care to not neglect managing my stamina. Because stamina forms the foundation of concentration and preseverance.

——Please tell us 3 items from the "Noah user manual".

・I'm just a bit poor at expressing myself, so it's not that I'm angry! There's a 99% chance that I'm just quietly concentrating.
・I exercise everyday like how I eat meals. I become uneasy if I don't exercise.
・Because my Japanese is still not good, I'm told that I speak a bit playfully, but my heart is that of a princess!

——What is a Japanese word you have learnt recently, or what is your favourite Japanese word?

Recently I have been immersing myself in vocal practice. I'm studying to find a vocal technique whereby I can sing comfortably without hurting my throat. And I'm also troubling over how to better express emotions than before. And as I like exercising, I make time to do weight training at the gym while listening to EDM.

Recently, there was a day where I put a little bit more effort into my lower body exercises compared to usual. Maybe I was tired that day, I lay down as soon as I returned home.

I think that it'll be nice to listen to "Kakurenbo" during a quiet dawn or when walking alone. As the guitar solo and gentle melody slowly wrap around your heart, so I feel that it is a song that would be absorbed in even deeper during those moments when you feel somewhat hazy. On a day when you'd like to calm your emotions, I'd like you to quietly add it to your playlist.

——Please share your thoughts on the Japan debut showcase.

When we first revealed our "Kakurenbo" performance at

the debut showcase, I recall feeling touched at the loud cheers from PLLIs who filled the venue. We approached it wanting to show PLLIs that "We prepared this much!" and let them hear the songs that we prepared. And upon seeing the venue filled with PLLIs before us, while thinking "We've actually made it this far", I was able to focus even more on the performance thanks to the loud cheers.

——What activities do you wish to try doing in the future?

I heard that "Kakurenbo" earned number 1 on various charts of Oricon Ranking and Billboard JAPAN. This has motivated me to work harder and create opportunities to meet PLLIs at a big concert venue in Japan. And as I have loved Japanese songs since I was young, I would like to try collaborating with famous Japanese artists to create music.

——You will be holding a concert in Japan too, what sort of concert will it be?

We plan to hold a concert in Japan as part of the latter half of our Asia tour. As it is our first solo concert in Japan, we are very much looking forward to it. We are doing our utmost in preparation so that we can meet PLLIs through various songs and performances, so

please look forward to it.

I think that sincerity and perfection are important. In order to not inconvenience the people around me, I always stick to appointments thoroughly, and in order to create a perfect song, I grasp well each members' vocal characteristics, and consider the assigning of the most compelling parts for those who are listening. It is not easy, but I believe that doing so can create something that satisfies everyone.

——Please tell us 3 items from the "Yejun user manual".

・I look quiet, but once we become familiar I'm more talkative than anyone else, so please approach slowly.
・When I need to recharge my senses, I go for walks alone, listen to music.
・Wherever I go, I feel uneasy without my lip balm. Yet it disappears frequently... does it have legs?

——What is a Japanese word you have learnt recently, or what is your favourite Japanese word?

The Japanese word I like is "saba" (mackerel). I learnt it

recently and am using it well during mealtimes etc.

——What is something you are into recently?

Evening walks. When I have too much on my mind, I take walks through the quiet streets at night while listening to music. As I walk slowly along familiar streets, I feel my complex emotions gradually being organised. Such times are extremely healing for me. And sometimes through communication apps, I also take walks together with PLLIs, each of us in our own location.

There's a particularly sweet peach called "shinbi peach", and I recently received a box of them. So I shared them with the members.

The members went on a trip to JP before (including amusement park, strolling the alleys, riding the train) and composerz incorporated those feelings they had from that trip when making Kakurenbo.

Hamin said he might have encountered a 👻 late one night at the practice room, rather than feeling scared, he was excited that Kakurenbo will be a hit. Bamby said it probably took ~2 months to finish the choreography, with ~57 changes.

Noah introduced Hamin as the maknae, rapper, dancer and choreographer (with Bamby) He's great at choreography that you are entranced when watching him. He also has explosive power, and whatever he says is funny - perhaps he's the most humourous member.

Radio host: so there's plenty of pressure on the most humorous member now / Japanese gag

Hamin: Ah mic check, ah ah thank you (arigatou) oh oh please (onegaishimasu) 😂

Radio host: Usually when doing mic check, I say ah ah father (aboji) oh oh mother (omoni) ah ah thank you (arigatou) oh oh congrats (omedetou). Both of them heard it earlier on and immediately imitated it.

Hamin introduced Noah + Yejun as madhyungz, like a huge tree which supports the team. Be it producing or choreography (?) he has charisma and grasps the direction well. Be it vocals or dance, he shows a great performance on stage.

Normally he's really amusing and has an airheaded side to him, and you also feel close to him.

The radio hosts said Kakurenbo has a kind, comforting and nostalgic feel, the sigh let out before the chorus made it feel intimate.

Q. As a virtual idol, there must be nice and also difficult aspects to it.

A. Noah said they're virtual idols, aliens who don't live on Earth. They can use magic, like instant transportation, appearing on stage in a car, switching clothes in a flash, flying. They did it during the showcase event, so people watching may take an interest in them. The difficult parts are not that many.

Hamin said he agrees with Noah. Additionally, they have a very interesting worldview, so and it can be expanded while communicating with fans. The difficult part was at the start, they weren't sure how everyone would see them, and

needed to convince.

Q. For this Japan debut, did you prepare anything eg. genre that wasn't shown before yet?

A. Noah said they listened to a lot of J-POP, Japan is famous for its band sound, so they listened a lot for research. They worked on blending their own signature band sound with J-POP, he thinks it came out well, and that people in Japan enjoys it. Normally you don't think of choreography with band sound as it's difficult, but this time they incorporated dance inspired by anime. Anyone watching can probably think of those anime.

Noah's favourite J-POP song is Aimyon's Marygold. Hamin, in-charge of choreography with Bamby, referenced Spirited Away and Your Name for Kakurenbo's choreography.

Radio host congratulated on their JP debut. Yejun said it still feels surreal, but he felt a bit that it is real when he saw so many PLLIs at the showcase event. Eunho said it feels like a dream. But it starts to feel real everytime they do activities like appear on shows or radio programmes.

On how they approach self-producing songs: Yejun said usually do it quite freely, and memo any ideas that come to mind - be it recording on their laptop or their phone. (Eunho said it'll be a headache if they lose it 😂)

On Kakurenbo: Eunho said they wanted to create a J-POPish song since it's their debut, so they listened to a lot of J-POP songs for research (even to the point of listening to it throughout the day). While also incorporating their own band sound.

Radio host said the song really sounds like PLAVE. Introduced the Asia tour. Yejun said it's large scale, and they're working hard on preparation, and hopes many fans can enjoy.

On whether they ate anything delicious while in Japan: Yes they ate a lot. Eunho's favourite food in Japan is udon, but he's sad that he hasn't eaten any recently. Yejun loves fish, the sashimi he ate was delicious.

Eunho said Bamby is really good at dancing, a dance member. He's unique, thinking his life is like Truman Show. When it comes to choreography, he comes up with really original ideas that others don't think of, to the point it's touching.

Eunho said Hamin is in-charge of choreography like Bamby. He's a giant maknae, but also has a mature side. He's always making the members laugh.

Q. The members' Japanese pronunciation is really pretty. Is there anything you are mindful of when singing

Kakurenbo?

A. The pronunciation of "tsu" "zu", it's still difficult. When recording, they kept studying it. There's one particular lyric "hitotsu zutsu", which really tripped Noah up.

Q. Where in Japan do you wish to visit? If you visit Kyoto, what would you like to do?

A. They know Kyoto. Yejun said he wanted to visit Okinawa, but today he changed his mind to Kyoto. 😂 Eunho said of course he wants to visit Kyoto, it's always Kyoto. 😂 Yejun said he wants to try surfing in Okinawa, he always heard how Okinawa is a cool place so that's why he wants to visit it at least once.

The radio host wanted to meet Noah as they had the same name 😂

Previously they shared that: Noah likes sweet stuff, he's addicted to chocolate cake. Eunho is addicted to FPS games, and destresses when playing it.

As for now: Noah said when he commented previously, he was living recklessly without any consideration. But recently he's been exercising (weight-training), so he's restraining himself when it comes to food. Eunho said he loves noodles, especially udon. So when he heard about their Japan debut, he thought he should try more types of udon and became more interested. So he wants to hear the radio host's recommendation and his favourite udon.

Radio host recommended tsurutontan (which is really famous; Eunho really likes it) as well as cold udon since it's summer.

On Kakurenbo: they are self-produced idols but for this JP single they didn't write the lyrics, rather they communicated what message they wanted to

convey in their lyrics. And they listened to a lot of J-POP in order to figure out how to blend J-POP with their signature band sound.

Eunho said it was an honour to work with UTA. They shared the guide + lyrics concept + title to UTA, explaining in Korean. UTA grasped it well and wrote fitting lyrics in Japanese. Though they couldn't work directly together since they live in Asterum, it was still really memorable.

Noah really thanks UTA, and said their JP single releases on 9 July, please support lots. Eunho said UTA came for their debut showcase and thanks him.

On their debut showcase: Noah said he was really nervous and even slipped up on the lyrics, and ended up murmuring. He still isn't used to Japanese lyrics, that's probably why he froze up and said words neither Japanese nor alien language, so it's regrettable. But he was happy to have met the fans in Japan.

The radio hosts are big fans of PLAVE and even attended their showcase event~

It's the first time all 5 members are on a JP radio show. The members replied あざっす which is a casual way of saying thank you / ありがとうございます😂

From debut till now, Bamby said that the first fan concert is the most memorable moment, it's special having met and communicated with fans for the first time then.

(Idk which member (Hamin?) said 大したもんだ / it's a big deal/it's great, when the radio hosts were praising Kakurenbo and how it is self-produced 😂)

Noah said that they focused on making the song easy-listening, with a band sound as the foundation. As for lyrics, it should have a message to the fans. For Kakurenbo, Noah listened to a lot of J-POP, especially Aimyon's Marygold, he thinks it's a really good song. He even listened to it today on the way here. When he listens to Marygold, he can see scenes which crossovers with his own. So he

wanted to create a worldview in Kakurenbo just like Marygold does for him.

Bamby said for choreography, he wanted fans to be able to see the details and know their significance, by inserting their story into the dance. Even if fans are not able to recognise, the dance should still look cool to them. As for Kakurenbo, he watched a lot of JP anime and incorporated those scenes into the performance.

Hamin said he was greatly influenced by JP anime, and paid attention to the words in the lyrics and how it would be influenced in actions. For example, when reading a book you could do it standing up or lying down. So he pays attention to each action to create the details.

Yejun said PLAVE's sensibility is thoroughly incorporated in Kakurenbo, from lyrics to MV to stage performance. The theme of "Kakurenbo" is deeply incorporated into the song, so he hopes one can pay attention to that when listening/watching.

Q. Besides the places in Japan that appear in the

MV, is there anywhere else you want to visit?

Eunho likes going to karaoke on his own. He said there's echo in karaoke, so usually it sounds good. So be confident, and it will probably sounds good thanks to the echo. And their songs are generally in higher key (even he himself feels so), so one shouldn't force it and can lower the key. He said

PLLI's voice is beautiful so have confidence when singing.

Q. What sort of work is Kakurenbo?

Bamby: Matching the theme "Kakurenbo" is a song created with the full use of imagination, such that you can visualise the story before your very eyes. And for the choreography, while thinking of the anime scenes that I enjoyed I tried to include them, so I think you will enjoy it even more if you keep this in mind while watching.

Hamin: I created the choreography together with Bamby. I really worried over what choreography would be good when I first listened to it. But just as Bamby mentioned, looking at animation, and focusing on the lyrics of "Kakurenbo", we did our best to create the choreography.

Q. Please tell us more about the concept or recording of the MV.

Hamin: The response to the "Kakurenbo" MV is much more than I thought, so I'm really happy. Within "Kakurenbo", there are scenes of us searching for each other, and familiar scenes of Japan in summer. And we paid attention to the story, so we'd be happy if you could watch with that in mind.

Q. Please share PLAVE's future goals and leave a message for PLLIs.
