Neverhood was actually surprisingly popular in Japan at the time of its release. They even got an exclusive Japan-only spinoff game (Klaymen Gun-Hockey. You play air hockey, with guns)

Today I completed my Neverhood/Klaymen collection, with the Skullmonkeys guide arriving in the mail! Been a fun journey tracking all of these down, and without a dime going to Doug Tennapel (because he is a genuinely terrible human being). Hope we see more claymation in games in the future!

I'm pretty sure watching my dad play the original RE game freaked me out, but I DEFINITELY remember being constantly on edge as a kid whenever I opened Neverhood. Scared the living daylights out of me for some reason. I don't think I ever finished it.
