Great work and an ingenious application of the UniProt and @rhea-db.bsky.social knowledgebases!

It's like those fuck-awful knowledgebases where you try and do a query to Organisation and it says "is your query about 1 2 3 4 or 5, and you are trapped into these pre-set queries with either delayed option to write your own query, or simply unable to ask The Organisation unplanned Qs. HATE em.

I do think a lot of us will eventually get *there* and get *it* but we're definitely on different tracks and have different resources and knowledgebases.
I am so grateful for those people from the left who were highly critical of Obama before I could get there or get it. I eventually did, though.

Yep! While the INTENT I think is good- some people are going to acclimate to the school system better than others and have different learning skills and knowledgebases- if anything we should expand that- the framing was a huge mistake.

On another axis, @rude1.blacksky.team, @transrights.northsky.social, etc., building for global communities.
Beyond that, all the existing open source, methodologies, best practices and knowledgebases.

Pro tip for getting your data into SGD and other knowledgebases: don't hide the data in the supplemental info in PDF format. Put it in Excel with stable identifiers like SGDIDs and systematic_names (ex. YFL039C) in addition to gene names. #yeast #modelOrganism #getYourDataOutGetCited

There are neurosymbolic techniques that couple knowledgebases in to aid in computer vision tasks (e.g., Logic Tensor Networks). I wonder if these would end up having similar effects as the humans if the knowledge became particularly salient in shaping the rewards during training.

With BioContextAI, we aim to index biomedical MCP servers (think: plugins for chatbots/agents) that expose specialized tools and knowledgebases to help foster a community of reusable components for AI 🤖 No matter, whether you would like to use existing chatbots or build your own biology agent 🧬

Preprint alert 🚨 Do you use chatbots in your work or even build MCP servers and agentic systems yourself?
Or would you like to find a way to use biomedical tools using natural language?
Then check out biocontext.ai, now out on bioRxiv: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

I keep seeing this take going around and 1) no one's stopping you from doing that now and 2) they're all empty because that's not what people want. We migrated from forums to social media because we wanted more than one subject at a time.

I think AI is going to eventually tank in the longterm, but...
the only real way to combat this is single-interest communities. Forums, user comms, etc, with a barrier to entry. They become trustable knowledgebases. It's really the only way forward is to return to what worked best the first time

data infrastructure work looks so much less sparkly & glamorous,
but I think those with long-term foresight will invest in systems to sustainably access, build,
democratize, and protect the human knowledgebases that AI companies are mining for near-term fortune in.
