That also had subsequent re-releases on various platforms with balance changes and new characters that required . There are games that launch with large rosters still (kof15 being a recent example), but that's still an outlier

昨日すごい久々にKOF15やった。
もちろんトレモでアシュベティ。二人のの身長差に悲鳴をあげ5分眺めていた。ベティのダメージ9割コンボ練習をしてて隣で夫が応援してくれて嬉しかった、何とか出来たけどやっぱり格闘ゲームは難しい。あと、ベティの掴み技で「無礼者！」って言ってますが何故か「震えて眠れ！」って聞こえた笑

I don't think steam charts are a great metric but it's still pretty funny to see cotw's launch playerbase be much smaller than people were anticipating. all that marketing and it's doing worse than kof15 did on launch
