#lambdaworld
@maxp nice report!

Sometimes good things just fade away. Even getting LambdaWorld back for two years was an unexpected surprise. Moving it somewhere else would be a different conference. I'm happy to let it fade away. So many good conferences left us. scala.io, CodeMesh, Curry-On now lambaworld.

Last week, I spoke at #LambdaWorld with my colleague @isaias-b.bsky.social.

Thanks to the organizers for such a welcoming event, and to @eschmiegelow.bsky.social and @franziskawoeckel.bsky.social from @hivemindtechnologies.com for allowing us to work on this project.

See you next year!

Had an amazing time at #LambdaWorld 25!

Gave 2 workshops with @serranofp.com about @kotlinlang.org. Had great chats about Kotlin not the server, for FP, Kotlin Notebooks, @jetbrains.com and @intellijidea.com 😍

You can find the workshops here: jb.gg/tj9qf6

Hope to see you all next year!

Still fuming about the AI keynote from the #lambdaworld conference this morning. Some audience members asked if there was any risk AI models wouldn't continue to improve and the speaker explained that there wouldn't be vast amounts of money pouring into AI if it wasn't going to keep improving.

Looking forward to Lennart Augustsson explaining how these fun features of Epic Games new functional logic language Verse will make coding Unreal engine games easier. Not entirely convinced yet that he will... but it sure is interesting... #lambdaworld

I stopped off in #grazalema for a couple of nights before #lambdaworld to explore. The first day I set out to climb Mt Simancón (1,569 m - 2nd highest peak in the area) on a circular route above the white village. In these two shots shortly after the first […]

In response to #lambdaworld audience questions on the future of #scala, director at JP Morgan Jack Higgs bemoans that because of the vast amount of macro generated code his team has - no viable migration path exists for them to migrate from Scala v2 to v3. When v2 gets EOLed thay will have to […]

Very low key shoutout for #smithy4s by JP Morgan director Jack Higgs during first day #lambaworld keynote. Later elaborates that meta-programming, complex domain logic and safe concurrency are just about the only viable use-cases left for functional programming languages in large businesses.
