Many people expressed their disappointment about the imminent war and bloodshed over oil. In particular, people came to the walls of the White House and Times Square with posters saying "No war on Venezuela", "No blood for oil" and "Hands off Latin America by the USA".

Below is a brief history
of US interventions/involvement in regime
change in Latin America:

As I said in a different post, US covert and overt interference in Latin American politics is hardly new (nor is the defence of law enforcement) What is new is the inhabitant of the White House ignoring all constitutional and legal niceties and Putin and Xi keen on expansion. Dangerous times.

What happened to…E pluribus unum is a Latin phrase meaning "out of many, one," which symbolizes the unity of the diverse states and people of the United States. It appears on the Great Seal of the United States and reflects the country's democratic ideals and heritage.

Because when people get arrested, the police move in and "run" the house while the person is detained. 🙄

As is typical, as long as American companies benefit, the US couldn't care less what actually happens to the people. This is not the first US coup in Latin America; there's a playbook.

It’s all part of the muscle flex of the global powers… now that there’s and crazy man in the White House, China gets to have Africa and Taiwan, Putin Europe, and Trump wants to follow suit with Greenland, Canada and now Latin America. God help us all.

Rubio is the fucking Secretary of State. He’s capitalism’s guy in the Trump White House and runs all aspects of foreign policy aside from Israel and Russia. And he is obsessed with recolonizing Latin America. Trump is only awake maybe eight hours a day. Rubio is picking up slack and pushing deals.

A new year means a new "Discovered" playlist to capture all the new (and rediscovered) songs I want to save.

Only three days into the new year, and Spotify has gotten off to a great start with these six songs.

I'll be adding to this playlist all year. open.spotify.com/playlist/0jM...

Although Maduro "was not a popular figure", Venezuelan's were not willing to "endorse US military action" to remove him, says senior fellow for Latin America at Chatham House, Dr Christopher Sabatini.

Did this general just say that the intelligence community worked hard to find Maduro’s pets? U.S. imperialist violence against Latin America is a bipartisan tradition, but this is deeply absurd as well as deeply horrifying.

Latin Americans are literally flooding the White House with thank you cards right now.

While we’re on the subject of Ollie North, Iran-Contra, and the history of weirdo Republicans trying to get money and fame by free booting regime change in Latin America, may I introduce you to the story of former Oregon legislator Drew Davis?

The analyst is Christopher Sabatini, a senior research fellow for Latin America, the US and North America Programme at Chatham House.
I just posted an article about the alliance. (Sorry. I wrote allegiance by mistake. Alliance.)

Pero creo que el plan inicial fallido para la agresión a Ucrania era similar, no? En Venezuela por el momento tampoco ha habido “cambio de régimen”. No sabemos lo que puede durar esto.

I vaguely remember Grenada

Meanwhile, the USA has given nothing but grief. To here, to Venezuela, to all of Latin America, on and on across the world. At the end of the day, nothing but grief to anyone who can read a word of this— to You, to Me. To us. For our *us*, fuck the “US.” It boils down to a blight, a leprous house.
January 3, 2026 at 10:04 AM
If there’s anything I’m “thankful” for (in the loosest of terms) it’s that these assholes in the White House are SO blatantly evil that they’re exposing the rot that is Latin Americans already knew about way before this: THe US isn’t a bully, it’s a psychopath with a machine gun.

Americans. Please, get your shit together. Rebel. Clean your house. & stop using Trump's murders to promote democrats. Any latin american knows that democrats would do the same but with rainbow flags to make you numb sleep & cheer. And fuck Maduro supporters too. I met Venezuelans dissidents before.
