This study presents the development and characterization of PILS-Nir1, a highly sensitive phosphatidic acid (PA) biosensor. Through liposome-binding assays and cellular manipulations, the researchers found that PILS-Nir1 specifically binds to PA, but not PIP2, in live cells.
