work today was so funny apparently we are switching all our web apps to a "low code" solution and i was like oh no and then i started researching it and its like. this is just a wrapper around java. we are using c#. nothing has changed

Anyway, be kind to the people around you, who may have to do things like call their doctors on their shift break at their low-paying job and beg the office to fix a billing code so the billion-dollar company they pay to cover healthcare expenses will agree to pay for their child's $300 inhalers.

except now code has a high-scrutiny and a low-scrutiny path to make it in, and pretending that a human reviewer won't be influenced by the llm attribution or absence of one and review equally is silly on its face

Every time I play with this stuff it becomes obvious where my own skill gaps are and where AI can (and low code tools, etc.) can and cannot fill in those gaps enough. It also reinforces my priors on the modest productivity gain scenario.

What are the advantages & disadvantages of #svelte?
There are many advantages. Only one disadvantage: no job market or super low.
Now with all agentic tools (figma, lovable) generating react / nextjs based code, demand is going to be more for them, not for svelte.

I think this stuff is pretty noteworthy because writing code is supposed to be one of the things these models are particularly good at, but the more time professionals spend with these tools, the more they realise they are not actually that useful.

When coding with AI, I follow a fairly simple principle:
If prompting effort > coding effort, code it. 😅
Would it be useful if I made a video with examples, etc?

Do Tableau and Power BI count as "low code/no code"? They've been useful. Our non-programmer business users have been able to do useful EDA and reporting with them, and I'd even occasionally use Tableau myself.
