The name tag conversation is especially funny to me since when I attended LTUE, I did not wear my convention-issued name tag even once.

Perhaps I’m an average teenage reader. Perhaps I’m a person of note. Perhaps I’m the bookmarkedone, a blurry memory, nameless, faceless, invulnerable to the Fae.
At cons I stare at name tags because I have the worst name- and facial-recognition you've ever encountered. If you catch me looking at your name tag for the fifth time, it's because I'm desperately trying to commit your last name to memory.
I went to a fancy lit party at, I believe, the Morgan Library or somewhere similarly super fancy, and the main thing I remember is every single person at the party was just openly staring at everyone's name tags to see if they were important enough to care about

He freaked out. I freaked out. He signed my book. I ran away and melted into the crowd from whence I came.

Absolutely one of the highlights of the trip. We are never doing this again.
