Possibly the last drawing of the year, another one I had promised a friend, this time a chibi Luanchuanraptor, a rather obscure species of raptor whose appearance I wanted to speculate on a bit.

Nope! We currently have no direct evidence of what colors Luanchuanraptor was. This picture is just one depiction of what it could have looked like.

Although based on other dromaeosaurids, and relation to modern reptiles (birds) we can make educated guesses.

Although we didn’t find the fossil evidence of said sickle claw, we make the likely assumption that it did based on the relation to other dromaeosaurids.

Now unlike other dromaeosaurids, it had a very stiff tail tip!

Luanchuanraptor.

It was a dromaeosaurid from the Late Cretaceous and lived in what is now China.

We currently only have one specimen, and it’s of a juvenile.
