TIL the tale of the Edmund Fitzgerald is one of corporate malfeasance and worker endangerment.
SS Edmund Fitzgerald had a structural defect in its keel. Sailors on that ship had complained about the ship bending and flexing during storms, especially when it was overloaded, which it usually was. They had also found old keel weld breaks due to structural fatigue, which were never repaired

*or* you do not actually have a minority whip. Helping orchestrate an end-around on the caucus is malfeasance by Durbin first & foremost
if the _minority whip_ is defecting, then you simply do not have a senatorial party

I will not support the Republican bill that’s on the Senate floor because it fails to do anything of substance to fix America’s healthcare crisis.

This is a great piece about governmental malfeasance that is possible to write only because the information underlying it is publicly accessible. www.thebulwark.com/p/kash-patel...

A major audit of this entire regime is in order. Once completed, the issues of malfeasance and misfeasance can be sorted and pursued own to the levels of personal culpability.

I agree! And giving Republican legislators the ability to sue over their phone searches will further support their (false) victim narrative, portraying poor Republicans as targets of Democrat malfeasance.

It’s worth noting because very clearly, the journos all understand that this was despicable malfeasance and self-centred abuse of power, but they’re not going to actually do anything about it beyond one or two of them making Lisa Nandy do an awkward interview.

Nothing, I mean nothing is worse than political betrayal or malfeasance by the party you support.
You kind of expect crap from the other side, but not from your own side on matters of key importance.

I’ve considered Keith Wilson a less-than-honest actor since he told a mayoral forum that he’d revoke Zenith Energy’s permits if malfeasance was demonstrated, took office, & immediately fast tracked Zenith’s new LUCS after they were fined by DEQ for illegally using infrastructure for fossil fuels.
DEQ fines Zenith Energy, requests new land use statement from the City of Portland
Zenith has a storied history of flouting local regulations. The latest DEQ findings represent a significant setback for the Houston oil-by-rail company.

should be journalistic malfeasance to cowtow to the diet industry like that.
"ultra-processed" is non-scientific and should be wholly discarded as a term. It borders on pseudo-scientific non-sense, as there is no sensible definition of it.

A lot of people seem to have assumed the likes of Watson, McSweeney and Reed were bragging about their absurd and possibly criminal malfeasance because those lads are political geniuses with very smart plans. It turns out they did it because they are clueless yapping shitheads and ego monsters.

There has always been a strong case for adding a public interest override to the section 6 withholding grounds in the OIA.
Today's IPCA report on Police malfeasance makes clear that section 6(c) in particular must have this safeguard.
The OIA must also apply to IPCA and the new Inspector-General.

To put that in perspective, Tesla employees 125,665 people at an average salary of $140,033 per year. So, to equal that $1 trillion ask(demand) by Elon, you could pay every employee for the next 69 years. Ain’t a snowballs chance in hell, he’s worth that.
