two of my favorite decks are relatively new. final fantasy commanders.

Streamed the Pioneer challenge tonight for 7 hours and won! Same deck as always, but tried out Secret Identity because it overperformed in Baltimore, and it overperformed here.

I feel Judith is Mardu. She's got a good sense of justice but even though her heart is always in the right place, it's not always legal so BW fit there. Her personality is an easy obvious R so yeah.

Fascinated by the fact that Mardu Energy came 2nd in both of the last Showcase Challenges, with an identical MD and totally different SBs. I've been struggling myself to build a SB I like for the deck - it's hard to figure out what's more effective than the core synergies already are.

Had an incredible time, every cube I drafted was great, and I’m excited to come back next year for another great event!

100% agreed. It also makes a weird disconnect between the command zone and the 99. Alesha is Mardu as a commander but is considered Boros in a deck? No thanks.

Would up playing my Mardu aggro deck because it's more resilient to the kind of disruption the final boss plays & also because it let me play Shatterstorm and let me tell ya, casting that spell and watching your opponent's board disappear is very satisfying. Ironically, the last Ajani, Nacatl Pariah deck that was built in MH3 FFL was one I called "Mardu Cats" bc it played Ajani, Ocelot Pride AND Cauldron Familiar.
