Bone dry. A drought continues in the region, and the falling water level in the Maumee River has revealed bone fragments, among other interesting objects. This one has a tiny spiral shell resting on it. #bones #maumeeriver #ohio #nature
An odd bone fragment colored off white and light brown rests on gray cracked mud. It has three points at the top and curves to a point at the bottom. Some speckles of white, perhaps a crushed shell of a tiny snail decorates a depression in the upper portion. A spiral shell, gray with mud covering it sits adjacent to the white grit.
