#microtome
Hallo Heidelberg! This week we are thrilled to be at #EESOrgan learning about everything organoids! If you are here, make sure to stop by the World Precision Instruments stand to learn more about tools to measure TEER and the 9000SMZ vibrating microtome to slice whatever tissue you want!

To support this course, we provided the LumiCycle and 7000smz-2 Vibrating Microtome, helping researchers explore cutting-edge methods. We're thrilled to support the next generation of #ReproductiveBio experts!

Satzinger points out that neurologist Igor Klatzko said "Oskar Vogt would have been helpless without her," and if you said that about a woman scientist and her husband, she would be fully discredited as a scientist. 12/15

Follow-up, I don't have the MiSeq in my possession yet but I may look into exactly this.

Recreating 3D images from insects and histological samples and fluorescing tissue microtome slices could be very cool.

A key question I have relates to cold tolerance in Arctic insects and sub-Arctic insects.

Holy crap Imma make a slide of my rib bone! I have a rib (outside my body) and a microtome… NEAT.

Yep. Passaged thru mice it's still human prion. I haven't had to contemplate how to make a prion lab safe but using a microtome to section the brains of infected mice would be high risk.
I had to do this but only for conventional viruses.

Microtome thin……

Just cut my thumb chopping celery at the second job. Not anything like the incident with the microtome last month, but hopefully it doesn't need a bandaid by tomorrow.

Get it together me.

Mais je n'ai pas l'expérience, ni de microtome... Ça se paraffine les végétaux ?

Bon ça prend toujours pas les vidéos donc en lieu et place du microtome...(piaille.fr/@romain_edlb...)

I learned how to use a microtome this week 😁 (and murdered some baby pine trees for science 😬)

We're going to dye the xylem samples but they're already so pretty 😍

…(2) The poor bird was convulsing constantly and moving trying to open and close its mouth as I held it. The edges of the beak were so sharp, each time it moved it shaved a layer of skin from my palm - like a microtome. I ended up with a large open wound on my palm.

And then you lift the slices out of the microtome using an eyelash stick, made from, you guessed it AN EYELASH! http://t.co/RaX3F7tqP9

That's amazing clarity. My internship team tried slicing bioprinted spheroids on a microtome and it was kind of a mess 😅 what we did is so clunky in comparison

You realize that you spend too much time on the microscope when the laboratory floor starts to look like microtome sections 😅

Now I am wondering what happened to the 100-year-old sled microtome

It's a great microtome, though. It's so quiet!

so micromicrodosing microdoses…. could work if we use a microtome to do the slicing I suppose
