I'm a recent convert; I knew it but then this summer the Youth theatre group my son's in did a week's run at the Minack. Amazing, don't let 'kids' give the wrong idea, many of them already have professional TV/West End credits and this was Minack's show of the year!

If I could’ve chosen to be anywhere Friday, it would’ve been The Minack Theatre, Penzance for Bess Atwell.

I did however discover her fab “folkish rockery” support, Blake Watt aka Family Stereo, son of Ben and Tracey Thorn. Clearly runs in the family!

This is the Minack Theatre carved out of the rocks in #Cornwall. I go there only about once a year because it’s a bitch of a drive, but it’s honestly breathtaking-go watch a show there before you die (take a raincoat and something to sit on because the rocks are cold) #travel #cornwall

Undoubtedly the highlight of our recent adventures in Cornwall was a very special evening with Patrick Wolf at the Minack, a spectacular open air theatre carved into Porthcurno Bay.

Friday clifftop coastal walk from Land’s End to Porthcurno. Seals, choughs, ravens and gannets to name but a few of the thriving wildlife along the way.
Seward view from Lands End of a birds nest rock just off the coast with clear blue skies and a calm sea. The coastal cliff view looking towards Porthgwarra in the distance. It’s mid morning and the sun is shining across the sea whilst pillars of granite stand tall and resolute. The Song of the Sea at Nanjizal, a coastal feature where the sea can wash through a gap in the granite cliffs and at times the sun can shine directly through it. Porthcurno beach viewed from high up as you descend the cliffs after passing the Minack theatre.

マップで見たら、彼が行ったのはBelvedere Hotelで、壁紙はMinack Theatre。ロケーションも造りもすごく似てるから間違うのは仕方ない。

It's such a sad story. You're right, it's a fabulous venue. Sorry there were no performances at the Minack on the very hot day in 2017 when we visited it. Such a beautiful place to visit.

In addition to her Utopian and Dystopian fiction. she wrote several children's books, including The Children's Country under the pen name Kay Bu Jekin. Her best-known work remains Swastika Night, written as Murray Constantine-a pseudonym that was not confirmed until two decades after her death.

Stop, you're making me homesick 😅 My in-laws back in the day were Friends of the Minack so we went often. The sound can be a bit dodgy but more than made up for by the atmosphere 😁 Waterproofs, cushions & a flask of soup recommended.

yes, the gardens were fabulous too. Mine were pre-smart phone as well. The sea was particularly green in the neighbouring beach that day but cold for swimming!
