On August, 11th, 1978 I happened to catch the Tonight Show where I was surprised to see Johnny Carson holding up the same copy of #moderndrummermagazine that I had just picked up. As he held up the mag, guest #buddyrich looked over to #edshaughnessy and asked, “Hey Ed, are you a modern drummer?”
