Chisora kept away from KO artist in final bout as Itauma headlines
Derek “WAR” Chisora, one of Britain’s most fearless heavyweights, has officially announced his final fight, confirming that he will step into the ring for the 50th time on December 13 in Manchester. But true to the unpredictability of boxing, Chisora won’t be the headliner. WBN understands that rising knockout sensation Moses Itauma will take the spotlight, with Chisora accepting a co-feature slot in a card designed to showcase the next generation while giving fans one last taste of the veteran’s relentless style. Promoter Frank Warren decided against throwing the Londoner to his young lion as he bows out in front of the UK fans. Chisora also fails to land the world title shot he wanted as he broke the news himself on Instagram, delivering his trademark energy. The Last Dance for Derek Chisora “Yo, let me tell you something, are you ready? Let me tell you something; you already know. We are going back to Manchester on the 13th of December, ‘Road to 50’ shut down, do you understand? “So book your hotels, book your restaurants. Me and Queensbury, we are coming to shut it down in Manchester on the 13th of December,” said Chisora. He added, “The opponent will be announced soon. I had one (Joseph Parker), but the big boss (Warren) took him (for Fabio Wardley). So, you can’t really argue when the big boss says what he wants. So, it happened. So, bump. ‘Road to 5o’ in Manchester, shut down. ‘The Last Dance II’ is happening in Manchester. Whoa!” The 41-year-old veteran has built a career on grit and spectacle, facing the sport’s elite, including David Haye and Tyson Fury. Fans can expect no less than full-throttle action on his farewell night. ‘The KO Artist’ Headlines While he won’t headline, Chisora promises to deliver fireworks, leaving it all in the ring for his loyal supporters. Despite Chisora’s farewell, the emphasis of this card will focus on Itauma’s rise, keeping the young knockout artist out of direct collision with Chisora while still providing fans with a blockbuster evening of heavyweight action. Both Chisora’s and Itauma’s opponents are yet to be confirmed. A Celebration of Chisora The man formerly known as ‘Del Boy’ isn’t just competing in another bout — it’s the celebration of a fighter who has never backed down, now set to share the stage with Britain’s next big heavyweight hope. Manchester on December 13 is shaping up to be a night where experience meets potential, with WAR reminding everyone why he’s one of the toughest men the division has seen. Queensberry will announce the card, tickets, and broadcast details in the coming weeks. What's next for Moses Itauma as Usyk is off the table for 2026?

The young, undefeated heavyweight will fight again in 2025 and must look destructive again to secure his shot.

The Rise and Return of Moses Itauma: No False Moves
Moses Itauma is closing in on a world heavyweight title shot but must bide his time until Oleksandr Usyk returns in 2026. Ranked number one with both the WBA and WBO after just thirteen fights, Itauma is already in a prime position. However, with Usyk sidelined due to injury and requesting a timeout from the WBO, the teenage prodigy has no option but to stay active without slipping. Itauma has momentum after obliterating Dillian Whyte in seconds last month, with talk of facing Usyk on Turki Alalshikh’s lips despite the Slovakian-born slugger’s tender age. Usyk stalls the division Speaking to Sky Sports, Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren outlined the plan to keep Itauma busy while Usyk takes a well-deserved break. “We’re quite close to an announcement for a big fight, plus a couple of others,” Warren said to Sky. “We’re talking about quite a few heavyweight shows which we’re working on right now. “Hopefully we’ll be in a position very soon, and it’ll have to be very soon because we’re looking for one of them to take place in October.” That October event will see interim WBO champion Joseph Parker facing interim WBA titleholder Fabio Wardley. Despite the title statuses ahead of the clash, only the winner ultimately guarantees a full crown attempt. With Usyk planning a return next year, Itauma seems to be ahead in the pecking order, which could eventually elevate Parker or Wardley to full ruler. Moses Itauma will stay busy A lot depends on the leniency towards Usyk, Warren confirmed won’t leave Itauma on the shelf. “He will fight before the end of the year. There are great expectations of him. I still temper all that because of his age and whatever,” stated Warren. “This young man has thirteen fights and no senior bouts as an amateur, so he’s done tremendously well. (Soon) He’s going to fight in a really big fight, and we’ll see what he’s all about.” Usyk’s decision, coupled with Parker vs Wardley plans, means the trio, including Itauma, must wait for a shot at the crown. Until then, it’s simple, Itauma can make no false moves or look any less destructive than he did against Whyte. Any performance dip from Itauma could see Warren delay the world title charge. However, if the young sensation continues to impress, his rise to the top remains inevitable and a matter of urgency. Moses Itauma versus Hrgovic would be perfect for Itauma. Less so Hrgovic as much as I like him. However, Usyk is a stupid idea.

Winner of Makhmudov Allen would be sellable. Zhang too. Joshua, Bakole... Plenty of quality options with decent gate and TV money.
