There are so many films that were complete box office failures of the 90s and 00s that I consider personal classics because non-HBO1 movie channels and cable channels like Comedy Central heavily trafficked in box office bombs because their rights were super cheap to fill out the schedule with.

The movie is really well shot and is currently among my favorite of del Toro’s Spanish language films. Also, we get Ron Perlman in this as well! CRONOS is available on 4K/Blu-ray and streaming on HBO Max.

The only good reason to have episodes that long is if it's a case of the week procedural with an entire story wrapping up each episode. Having near movie-length episodes in a serialised drama is just a creative team jacking off at their own reflections

That wasn't even the first bit of CGI which took me out of the movie. That was the ships at the start, when I didn't think, "Oh look, there's a bunch of Roman ships." I just thought, "Oh look, there's some clearly-CGI ships."

First movie was about a man whose father disappeared mysteriously when he was a boy and then finds him when he gets sucked into a video game-type universe. A sci-fi action film. Don’t know about the third one. Second one didn’t really do anything with the established plot. #NotAloneTalk
