Two layers of Pleurotus australis from below, showing the white gills and the beautiful hint of grey colouration over the lip of the mushrooms. Pleurotus australis from above, here a mostly grey coloured mushroom that is growing in the shape of a flat plate from a tree. The edges of the mushroom are lighter in colour and rippled, from whence pleurotus complex gets the name ‘oyster mushroom’ the top of the stem looks to have been eaten a little bit by bugs. A cluster of small rustgill (gymnopilus) mushrooms partially obscured by a plant.

Interested to know if anyone has insight into what type of #mushroom this is. Growing wild in my veggie garden. They all have broken tops and sometimes get wider than this. #mushtodon #mushroomid #fungiverse #mushtodonnz
