The sky is the limit for Tsek web series
UNWRAP.ONLINE Movie fanatics can brace themselves for another season of the local web series ‘Tsek’ as the production team plans on expanding the local series. In an interview with Unwrap.online this week, production assistant Uakaa Jeomba said the first season has been received well, creating the desire to extend the episodes further. “There are five episodes in total. They are short. Would be great to get. We would love to expand on the story. Audiences from across the continent have been asking for us to do so,“ she said. Produced by Inchiology Studios, the five-episode series features a neighbourhood dog that is all too eager to bite a chunk from one’s derriere. The web series was written by Jenny Kandenge, Inna Goroh, and Jacob Shichilenge and directed by Goroh. The series offers comedic relief, demonstrating the life of the main actor Jonas trying to navigate through life. Jonas is labelled a ‘moegoe’ in the film. However, life leaves him with no choice but to stand up for himself. “We wanted to create something very different from what’s we’ve seen before. It was inspired by ‘Scott Pilgrim vs the World’, a character facing everyday situations in extraordinary and fantastical manners. We wanted it to feel crazy but in a local context. The story needed to feel like a story we could all relate to,” Jeomba said. The cast includes Theodor Goagosteb, Abigail Goliath, Lugino Goraseb, Fausino Paulus, Whilzahn Gelderbloem, and Elago Akwake. The mini series can be viewed on YouTube at Inchiology Studios. Jeomba further noted that, apart from the series being full of laughter, there are a few life lessons to learn from the series. “The screening of the first episode had someone in the audience say it forced them to look at their lives and see where they were letting small things dictate the course of their destiny. Some said they had the courage to take charge. Whatever each viewer takes away, we hope they enjoy the series,” she added. ‘Tsek’ shines a light on the immense talent within the Namibian film industry The post The sky is the limit for Tsek web series appeared first on The Namibian.
