I've experienced this too around trial design (and NIHR applicatios). Can PPI help on elements of trials? Absolutely.

Can PPI participants _design_ a trial? No. Of course not. Just like they can't help with the stats!

Today I attended the NIHR session on ‘PPI for statistical methodology research’. It opened with a definition provided by Chat GPT. If we can’t define our own field without resorting to AI-generated definitions, we’re not ready create rules for everyone to follow.

A major new clinical trial aimed at reducing the use of street-sourced #benzodiazepines among people receiving treatment for #opioid dependency has been launched.
