#openFPGA
It’s OpenFPGA on an Analogue Pocket.

Nervous about the upcoming next gen of FPGA devices.
With the various MiSTer clones by takiudon or RMC etc. which use the same framework on a unique board...
The competing but similar OpenFPGA platform and now splintering even the base MiSTer community, I fear the unified culture will disintegrate.

It drives me insane that one game I want to play the most (Gals) does not yet work on the OpenFPGA core on the Analogue Pocket!

I've seen some side eyed comments about the way analogue has been doing the openFpga stuff, but none of it even approaches how unacceptable buying something from palmer luckey is.

Game Boy (Color) and GBA cartridges, plus a bunch of other systems via OpenFPGA cores

Like I do most of my gaming including emulation on my Steam Deck, but I love playing my actual GB/GBA carts (and the occasional NES/SNES game via openFPGA) on my Pocket. There's something about the display, the controls, and the lack of WiFi...

The Analogue Pocket Core Inventory Github page appears to have vanished? I last checked maybe 2 weeks ago when I noticed I was still subscribed to the Jotego patreon

I love that they added openFPGA to the Analogue Pocket. My neighbor gave me the extra one he "accidentally" bought. Loaded a TON of Roms on it and still grab GBA and Gameboy carts when I see one I want. Got hit hooked to my monitor with the dock and use an 8BitDo controller.

Same here!

I also have the 3d coming in. I hope someone jailbreaks that so we can have either mister or openfpga on it.

The psone was my childhood console, and I want to finally have a good HDMI N64 💙

RTC support isn't present in openFPGA cores

Not to mention the cynical OpenFPGA. A shiny toy that was just a scheme to rope devs in to improve their product for free. Now it’s dead too, because it undermined their mission of selling FOMO hardware. Sorry to everyone who pissed away their time making cores, they won’t work on the N64 clone.

I love you openFPGA

Well I didn't beat the game. I played for half an hour and I tried using the everdrive on the Master System adapter plugged into the Game Gear. I should have just used OpenFPGA because I didn't realize that the Master System core actually supports save states. #sega #fpga

I love love love what Efinix is doing. Great fpga, very good prices, and unlike Lattice it's not multi-thousands of dollars for the software.

Hopefully the #openfpga world (yosys, nextpnr) can make inroads with one of those vendors new nice mid-range chips at some point!

i'd love to grab the analogue 3d but i'll wait until openFPGA support is added—if that ever happens lol.

There's an OpenFPGA core to play them on the Analogue Pocket (most likely on MiSTer too) and the Game & Watch LCD games by Nintendo. They look just like the real thing in the Pocket's screen.

One of the coolest inventions, openFPGA! 😍

Check out this awesome #ArcadeKaren #AnaloguePocket Artwork for your favourite #openFPGA cores.

You wanted more Karen, now you can take her everywhere with your favourite #PocketFPGA

It’s great. No real modding required, it’s open. You need a micro SD card and while it’s not required I highly recommend a script like pupdate to get all the OpenFPGA cores installed on it. Then just copy ROMs to the appropriate folder and you’re good to go.

One of the main criticisms of the Pocket is that many openFPGA cores don’t support features like save states bc significantly more work’s required. But one could argue the 2nd core to should’ve been software-based, since it doesn’t have access to the cartridge slot anyway.
