That's beautiful! The pattern is almost an optical illusion and we love it

I love spinning rust. Yes, optical disks are #1 for reliability, longeivity, but I want to "grab and go" my memories (2 tb worth and growing) should I be forced to leave my home. I also have a second copy in a different location.

NASA's Webb reveals complex organic molecules like ethanol around the protostar IRAS 2A, shedding light on the transport of life's building blocks to new worlds.

The Jaguars are an optical illusion, every time I watch one of their games they don’t look good and yet every time I just check the score they beat a good team

In 1952, Bertrand Russell argued that there might be a teapot orbiting the sun too small to be seen even with telescopes. Russell's Teapot illustrates why "you can't prove it's *not*" is a fallacy.

Anyway, Fox News says that the Nazi American flag in Rep Dave Taylor's office is an optical illusion.
lol, now they're saying the Nazi flag is an "optical illusion"

Sorry, but optical media still beats flash usb drives and NVME drives on this matter. Having a DVD or Bluray writer is still the best cheapest backup you can get. (If discs are stored correctly with right humidity etc)

USB flash drives, NVME drives aren't that reliable, in fact they're worse.

Why not use USB flash drives? They can be wiped, destroyed by EMP. Data on a optical disc is still there and usable once you get to a working machine again.

The Anker works but whenever I boot the system I have to turn it off then on to make the peripherals work. So that’s not a long term solution.

Now to find a USB dock that doesn’t hate 20m optical cables and doesn’t force a reset.

Also adding in a couple of the episode shots where it didn't stand out as steps unless you knew to expect them there- I think it's had a real optical illusion effect for lots of people because of that! Like you CAN see that the door is lower than the deck if you know to look for it, but if not...

The transfer is BEAUTIFUL.

Some optical composites suffer from the clarity of the 4K transfer, but everything else is vivid and crisp, which is important in a film that has so much TEXTURE.

This film remains an utterly remarkable artistic and technical achievement.

They will NEVER do this again.
Watching SHOUT! Factory's THE DARK CRYSTAL (1982) 4K.

I watched LABYRINTH yesterday, and was a little let down by how the transfer looked in the opening, but once they got to the Labyrinth, it looked exquisite. I think this one is sourced from the previous Sony one from 2018.

Ahaha mood! I knew they were there but I fear I may have been slightly neurodivergent (!) about understanding every nook and cranny of this ship over time, and I now see MANY people hadn't noticed (on review it does have a very optical illusion vibe in a lot of shots that's quite understandable).

He should have rushed forward to sever the optical fibre. Could have thrown a blanket or sleeping bag over it, and it would have been disabled. If the operator of the drone did not react faster.
