I'm not a fan of gore, but horror that examines psychological and social pathologies is interesting to me (e.g., It Follows, The "28 Days Later" series, VVitch, Rosemary's Baby, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, etc.)

Was rereading some of the reddit threads about this last night and was blown away by people saying it was 'boring', that 'nothing happens', or that 'we know what's going to happen', as if there's no fun in watching a scenario where people's pathologies produce a unity of preference and prophecy.

Not a researcher but I imagine a lot of pathologies among the kids who were in school at that time revolve around, “you and your grandparents are expendable, your consumption, however, is mandatory.”

Thinking about the top down approach of this Irish government
It’s clearly a retrograde step
Allowing old and new pathologies to emerge
Yes decisions around elections and not listening to backbenchers are a symptom but so too is the absence of listening through citizens assemblies

This is what did, does, and will continue to make #american Republic great, despite the pathologies of the worst of us.

With all we know about DT going back decades about his PREDATORY behavior, I'm convinced that DT was running a PARALLEL TRAFFICKING SCHEME.

In the words of Miami Herald's journalist JULIE K BROWN - 'FOLLOW THE MODELLING AGENCY TRAIL.......'

Their pathologies clicked and they 'egged' each other on.

Lotsa us mentally ill, but if my pathology doesn’t affect my job, you shouldn’t describe me as “mentally ill” at work.

These people, however, bring their pathologies to work with them.

It is mental illness.

Less demonizing health, more recognizing symptoms.

Trump’s mental health is malignant.

Quel bande d'incapables.

3/3 And yes, suffering. Since he crashed onto the political world in 2016 I've believed Trump is in anguish, manifested by his actions and words. That someone who acts out mental pathologies can stop is achievable for some, but usually with medical and talk therapies. That's not ableist.

2/ . . . her behavior has been well documented as unstable, and that some mental illnesses are extremely difficult/impossible for their sufferers to control. Donald Trump's quite evident conditions have been written about many, many times; sociopathy and narcissism are two of those pathologies.

I actually do believe there are some unenviable commonalities btwn Reagan & Trump. I just don’t accept the premise of political causality implied in “Reagan led to Trump.” There were 16 years of Democratic Presidents btwn Reagan and Trump 1, 20 before Trump 2. Our collective pathologies run deeper.

Communism is romanticised in the US because of deep pathologies of capitalism out there and the distrust towards anti-communist propaganda. But there's no collective memory of those events there, not many experienced it first hand. You realize it was an illussion when it's too late.

Human rights violations are not accidents; they are not random in distribution or effect. Rights violations are, rather, symptoms of deeper pathologies of power and are linked intimately to the social conditions that so often determine who will suffer abuse and who will be shielded from harm

Was at a talk given by Lea Ypi this week and she basically said socialists are just liberals who take liberalism to its logical conclusion. While also arguing that liberalism and capitalism creates pathologies of fear which undermine liberal principles. Made sense.
