It's hard to communicate to you how extremely cooked this political project is when you have someone running as a socialist, who belongs to DSA, has a Marxist father that's an expert in postcolonial theory, and is STILL going to end up governing like Bill de Blasio.

Shout out to the house on the next street that put up a union jack, then tied their Halloween decorations to it and accidentally created a postcolonial art installation.

the moral panic about anti-Semitism narrates crises of postcolonial neoliberalism through anxious images of the wretched of the earth, a spectre now redescribed as anti-Semitic, the better to cohere alliances against it.

I also use Keen’s Latin American civilisation, though mostly for postcolonial sources. It looks like you’ve hit on a market opportunity for an enterprising historian of colonial Peru or the Andes!

We're living through a crisis of whiteness.

People know the colonial era isn't coming back and now they're ashamed and embarrassed that they didn't get to go play commando killing Africans with Daddy in the 40s or whatever.

I think it's postcolonial revanchism.

One of the best ways you can see this is how postcolonial theory has jumped on this bandwagon and *expressly* focused on how LGBT people having rights abroad, Western NGOs promoting LGBT and women’s rights, etc, are allegedly oppressive to the “people of the global south”
