An excerpt of "Estranged" chapter. “M-Miss Amara, you arrived safely, t-thank goodness.” Amara is too focused to see the changes to realize Penelope approaches her from the other side of the bridge. Her incorporeal spirit animal is walking beside her, a big and sturdy tiger that looks more solid than Amara remembers. Perhaps, things go differently as they are in the world of ‘mentality’, inside layers of consciousness, that somehow a being that is composed of one’s mental thread can have its true form. When Penelope pats on the tiger’s head, Amara only gets more intrigued about how far a spirit animal guiding really goes and how strong a Mentalist Guide is, considering Sara needs another push before she can materialize her spirit animal. “O-Oh, this is T-Tama.” The tiger lets out no sound, but its mouth opens, as if it is trying to greet Amara. “Tama? Does everyone name their spirit animal?” “A-Ah, it’s S-Shura who gives the name.”
