Autism spectrum makes this a lot harder:
- poor proprioception
- am I tired or just overwhelmed? physical or mental?
- antidepressants do NOT help with fatigue and I need them to be sociable

I think I have to spend more cognitive effort to maintain awareness of proprioception and when I'm focused on higher order thinking, I don't.
It must be really nice to be a human who can just walk without thinking, "Okay, don't trip or walk into that doorknob."

Beans are fucking wild tho like what do you mean I know where the end of the broom is even when I'm not looking at it because my brain classifies it as a part of my body and grants me proprioception for it??

The Boston Dynamics stuff is incredibly impressive in terms of balance and mobility but proprioception remains nightmarishly intractable.

yeah i think adhd would be being distracted by sensations or getting distracted and losing proprioception, not unceasing awareness

1. No seating is an issue. I think there's space for a perch (see 3).
2. Even with the buggy parked there is space to walk and wheel past on the pavement.
3. If pavement space isn't enough, i.e wider wheelchair or difficulties with proprioception, the cycle lane is flush and can be used.

Exactly! Humans have a sixth sense called proprioception which allows us to detect the relative position of our limbs without looking, and experiments have proven that this mental map expands to include the tools we're using: an amazing quirk we share only with great apes, cephalopods, & passerines.

Yeah, the human brain is pretty adept at inertial navigation. It's not that hard to navigate a familiar space in total darkness based on your mental map of it and your proprioception inner ear keeping track of how much you are turning and how far you are walking.

funny thing that keeps happening to me is my senses changing if i practice something regularly. like btw if you train your ear you will hear music differently, more sharply, more deeply. same thing has happened with my proprioception, even if it is fighting with my dissociation and catatonia :'^)

It’s really satisfying to shake yourself off like a dog like I understand why they do it. Proprioception reset. It shakes off all your gunk

People are like "you never got your driver's license?" I'm like ... it would not be great for any of us. I am very easily distractible, have the worst spatial awareness and proprioception with just a human body, and I've got fairly terrible vision. Let's give me a giant metal armor on wheels.
if you're bad at driving you should be honest with yourself about it and not do it
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Haha, fair! My stuff is more dystonia and deregulated proprioception than exhaustion, although *that doesn't help either.* I often find myself either missing vowls or just typing aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

It is something I can get used to, however it caused some issues with gestures. I used to use a Rex in the past and I could not hit all the gestures when running Monado, but in SteamVR it was fine.
Not so good for my proprioception though.

both have had hand tracking for years now, yeah
ironically, both are discovering that spatial speed and accuracy is -abysmal- compared to more grounded hardware like mice and keyboards
our proprioception just isn't as good out in the middle of virtual space. we're tactile primates

What well meaning people dont understand is when things like yoga "work" they do so because there's a quite well understood mechanism going on for both the physical practice AND the problem its being directed at (like ppl losing proprioception in PTSD).

Exercise *can* help with *some* aspects of *some* chronic illnesses and disabilities. The problem is that people see it work for one symptom of one person and declare it works for everyone and everything.
