The arrival of the final proofs in the final week before the festive season was almost the final straw, but we're done and finally ready for publication in 2026

What’s wild to me is that you don’t need to be a journalist to know this.

You just need to consume journalism! Who hasn’t heard some version of “We reached out to [X] for comment but they did not respond by publication.”

Weiss’ justification is absolute nonsense. It should be humored by no one.

Did I just sneak in an end-of-year poetry acceptance? I sure did! Excited to share that you'll be able to read my poem, "Okay, Little Fiend" in Scattered: A Dark Forest Press Zone in 2026! More details as the publication gets closer!

Despite my stance on the Late Quaternary extinctions, and regardless of yours, I will say this. It IS depressing to think of your favorite ice age beasts – which you've now seen in wonderful display on Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age – as...human chow.

Not later than 15 days after the required publication,
DOJ must report to Congress
(1) all categories of information released & withheld
(2) a summary of any redactions made, &
(3) a list of all government officials and politically exposed individuals named or referenced in the published materials.

Get a load of this amazing antique copy of Wuthering Heights, translated into Portuguese. The inside plate with the publication page missing, but based on other pages I think it's from 1939 at the earliest. Does anyone have eyes on an intact copy?

Wuthering Heights-Emily Brontë I've been carrying this book around with me everywhere while I read it 💙

It’s the raw moments and ultimately the unending connection between Heathcliff and Cathy that bury this story, along with its tragic ghosts, right into your soul.

'A wild, wicked slip she was.'

I note it’s the 100th anniversary of publication of the first Winnie the Pooh story. I heard a discussion on Radio 4 about the books’ characters. So it seems a good opportunity to repost this piece from 2017: www.newstatesman.com/politics/the... Key point: no character is as he or she purports to be

Every end of year, I attempt to submit some short stories I've written for publication. If you think Hollywood doesn't offer up enough rejections, submitting short stories is the way to go! 🤓

Two years after its publication, this thread is the best Christmas gift to myself that I could have imagined. I’m gobsmacked. Despite having an advanced degree in British literature, I’ve never heard of these ghostwritten sequels (the loooong C18 did not quite extend to Dickens). Thx, @ryanestrada!

He doesn’t even know if he’s supposed to uphold and defend the Constitution. Likely he wouldn’t understand it if he read it. Funny tho, it’s included in the KJV Bible he hawks for at least $49.99. Maybe he should read his own publication.
