Air quality here is unusually bad for some reason. Not sure what is causing it. The chart in my @homeassistant dashboard that just alerts me to quality was bright red this morning, causing me to look into the details.

i have been trusting the purpleair maps more & more as i’ve started to notice hinky numbers with the dot gov one, which was my go to.

(& by hinky, i mean citing purpleair monitors *only* as their source data & not reflecting those numbers even when accounting for delay & excluding indoor monitors)

What a nasty inversion layer. All of Northern California's air quality is absolute shit tonight. It was so bad it woke me up from a nap. Even the Bay Area is going into purple and maroon.

And this is why I have three high output HEPA filters.

The inversion is also holding down the Valley fog, which is always a winter treat here in Concord but today it’s dirty fog. Meanwhile up on Mt Diablo: pristine!
