Hit the road from Louisville looking for the end of that long white line back to Denver. Had to stop in KC for some Q39, their burnt ends burger is so ridiculously good. No pic, phone did not eat first on this one 🤤

Arthur Bryant’s is so inconsistent these days I’d never send someone who was visiting town. Joe’s is unimpeachable. Q39 is great but can get *very* busy. There’s a great place right by the airport actually, Scott’s Kitchen. It’s legit.
We also like Char Bar in Westport for a casual family place.

In fairness, I’ve only ever passed through a few times and I don’t think I’ve ever stayed more than a full 24 hours. It seems like it’s becoming a little touristy, but Q39 in Midtown is great. Top 10 meal of the year and their brisket poutine is back on the menu.

I inquired with my KC friends:
"Our favorite is Joe's, but that's over on the Kansas side. Arthur Bryant's is better than Gates imo. I would highly recommend Joe's if they're willing to drive like 20 more minutes."
One other friend suggested Q39 as well, in addition to the above.

The canonical Kufan readers Ḥamzah and al-Kisāʾī read the word ʾumm "mother" or ʾummahāt "mothers" with a kasrah whenever -ī or -i precedes, e.g.:
