About 3-5% of us have a little raised line between the lower end of the vulva and the anus. This perfectly normal feature is called a raphe. It's pronounced "ray-fee", not like the name of the actor Mr Fiennes.

that's really funny haha. also thanks for doing the work and googling and learning! yup, the raphe is the "ridge" or "seam" that runs the length of the perineum. between balls and b-hole, AND between v-hole and b-hole! it's a result of fetal development, and thus a trait shared by all humanity :)
