Chotiner: And you're against vinyl reissues on principle?
Me: Yes. No, it depends. If they're using the original stampers that's fine.
Chotiner: So you've verified all your matrix runouts?
Me: I mean on Discogs.
Chotiner: And you don't own any vinyl rip reissues of private press jazz?
Me: Now Isaac—

Listening bars are a weird concept aren’t they. I imagine the Manchester ones are like 12 grand turntable and speakers set up playing Doves and Puressence 180 gm reissues to some blokes drinking Guinness.

I started a series of reissues in 2018 thinking me very clever (not that it was an original idea), and now every damned press has one. But ours is the best! And now you can get a bunch of them for 1/2 off!

Bluesky hivemind: Tell me about notable *rock* and *metal* reissues, archival releases, etc. from this year. I'm informed about jazz stuff but other genres may have escaped my notice.

AnimeonDVD/FandomPost was a pretty great resource for finding out about new sets, budget reissues and sales alongside all the DVD reviews. Certainly helped me collecting S.A.V.E

(Also, all the trashy CPM ova's and movies I own are AnimeJump's fault)

Low's Things We Lost In The Fire was a complete game changer for me and it'll always be my favourite of theirs. Missed out on a copy at the time and all the reissues have been too limited or too expensive, but I finally got one.

New Kling Klang too. Incredible band, great they're back.

I got the last of the Monkees' deluxe reissues which, like the others, came with a 45 of unreleased mixes.

feel the same way about posthumous albums (and honestly about all the jazz reissues with so many alternate takes, fun as some of them are)

New vinyl reissues: October 24, 2025
Once again, it’s a week where there are simply too many vinyl reissues to cover. Labels are racing to cram in their 20th, 30th, 40th, and 50th anniversary reissues before the end of the calendar year,...

I just adore Kinnikuman, MUSCLE in the US

I was overjoyed to see love for the series at the Bandai Namco store in Tokyo when we visited in April

They even had a full set of the very original toys on display in a glass class 🥰

It’s only taken 3 decades, but here they are… OFFICIAL reissues of the Def American Danzig albums. Danzig IV is also available but I’m not the biggest fan of that record.

I'm dropping as much $ on Blue Note reissues now as when I owned a record store, your odds reflect how you play the game, not the game itself.

PREORDER: Minutemen Reissues

Absolutely boss news that the classic forty-five track double album ‘Double Nickels On The Dime’ is returning to wax alongside four other favourites from the early post-hardcore group.

all of this chrono cross talk has me thinking about the reissues of chrono trigger. I’ve never played the post-DS version where they retconned things to jive more closely with cc. for anyone who’s played both versions: is it weird & bad or did they do a decent job?

My dad had the original Aurora Monster models. He got me the reissues for Christmas one year. I still haven't painted them all. Started with the big three.
