Drill n bass and breakcore also have a ton of overlap in general. There are also really sample heavy sub genres like mashcore and the sub-sub genre reizokore/fridgecore. If you’re looking for something really crazy I’d highly recommend reizoko cj’s rrrrr’ or the dj California crisis collected works.

It’s worth watching, even just for fun, and the contents is pretty useful as well! I’ve heard from a lot of people that it has helped them get started making reizokore. I didn’t even know about it until I had already made quite a few tracks, though. I figured stuff out through trial and error.

I love making breakcore in odd time singatures! Usually I stick to more traditional breakcore stuff for that, but I’ve done some odd time signature reizokore stuff too

I don't like the weak slop that "breakcore" has become though, nowadays "breakcore" is just weak ass DnB, but people like J-CORE SLi//CER really carry the torch left behind and continue the REAL hard stuff

I’ve also always thought the idea of making fridgecore purely out of other (unreleased/purpose built) tracks that I have made would be very interesting. It removes the plunderphonic element of reizokore that I love though

I like designing whole ass tracks from scratch inside of reizokore tracks. The funny thing is nobody is even gonna realize, probably just gonna assume it’s sampled lol

I’ve sampled it a few times in reizokore tracks and I know others have to, I don’t remember the names of the tracks atm but if I do I’ll post them

It gets difficult to conceptualize the scope and contents of mega/giga reizokore stuff as an artist while I’m working on projects.

I mean I adore flashcore but I don’t like the idea of comparing against each other like that. IMO there is lots of stuff very much worth listening to from most genres. Also if I HAD to pick I’d probably say reizokore, but that can also only exist because of other music existing lol
